Die Geschichte des Handys
Musik auf einen Mobiltelefon abzuspielen war erstmals 1998 möglich. Da nun die technischen Anforderungen eines MP3-Players in ein Handy integriert worden war, war es möglich ganze Lieder abzuspielen. Im Jahre 2000 sind die ersten Mobiltelefone mit einem kleinen integrierten Speicher mit einer Größe von 32 Megabytes für die MP3-Musik verfügbar. Von nun an konnte das Mobiltelefon als MP3-Player dienen und aktuelle Charts konnten genossen werden. Da die Technik weiter voranschritt war man in der Lage im Jahre 2001, dem Handy eine zusätzliche Speicherkarte zu integrieren welche genutzt werden konnte MP3s und andere Daten für einen späteren Gebrauch abzuspeichern. Ericsson bringt ein Handy auf den Markt womit Daten und MP3-Files nun auch via Bluetooth mit anderen Geräten ausgetauscht werden konnten. In dem gleichen Jahr war ein UKW-Radioempfang und die Speicherung der Empfangsfrequenzen mit unterschiedlichen Aliasnamen möglich. Gegen Ende des Jahres war die Technik des Handys soweit fortgeschritten das es nun möglich war den Radioempfang des Gerätes aufzuzeichnen und als MP3 abzuspeichern. Zwei Jahre später gab es die Möglichkeit dem Handy schon eine 1GB Speicherkarte einzubauen auf der ganze Dance Charts gespeichert werden konnten. Im Jahr 2005 produzierte Sony ein Mobiltelefon welches in der Lage war ein MP3-Player komplett zu ersetzen, da dieses Handy mit einer Minifestplatte ausgestattet war, welche genug Speicherplatz für ganze Musikalben im MP3 Format hatte. Heutzutage werden die Musikdaten einfach über das Internet herunter- und heraufgeladen. Es wird zunächst kein Gedanke an Speicherkapazität verschwendet, aber wie war es in der Vergangenheit weswegen war MP3 eines der ersten Musikformate.

MP3 ist ein Format mit einer verlustbehafteten Codierung, welche auf das psychoakustische Wahrnehmungsmodell zurückzuführen ist. Ausgenutzt wird hierbei die Psyche des Menschen und die Eigenschaftes des Gehörs so dass beispielsweise aufeinanderfolgende Lautstärkepegel nicht gespeichert werden müssen weil das Gehör sie nicht mitbekommt. MP3-Formate können mit verschiedenen Bitraten gespeichert werden damit hier auch nochmal eine Kompression erfolgen kann.
